Illinois' Old Eighth Circuit provided the life experiences that made Abraham Lincoln immortal. The 2008 Term of the "Old Eighth Circuit" continues from Urbana, Illinois, and so shall we. We will ride the Eighth Judicial Circuit the weekend of October 11th and 12th. We will ride the same roads, visit the same court houses, and drink from the same wells as Abe did. Bring your children, grandchildren, friends and neighbors.
Show them where Lincoln learned to pen the words that inspired a Nation then, and now.
Join A.B.A.T.E. of Illinois and Rod Taylor/A.B.A.T.E. LEGAL SERVICES in celebration of the most famous mortal to ever walk the earth, Abraham Lincoln. The Lincoln Circuit Ride will begin as Lincoln did; in Springfield, from his office on Sixth Street. Motorcyclists will lead, but bicyclists, joggers, horses, and automobiles are welcome as this is a family event. Over the two days, the ride will cover approximately 400 miles and make stops in the communities where Lincoln learned the words that inspired our nation then and now. Riders from all over the Midwest are invited to what promises to be an "historic" ride.
We visit the following communities:
* Urbana leave Carle Park
* Paris
* Charleston
* Shelbyville
* Sullivan
* Decatur
* Taylorville
Local historians will meet us at these stops and share a bit of local Lincoln history with us. We also stop at every county line marker erected by Daughters of the American Revolution in the early 1920s.
