Mike is an East Peoria Native, Marine Corps Veteran, and father of 2. Recently he has had severe medical problems. In recent months he has had pneumonia, a viral infection, his appendix taken out, 12 ulcers cut out of his stomach, and on April 8th, his 39th birthday his heart gave out. He had to be rushed to surgery where they put in an artificial heart. A few hours later he flat lined, had no heart beat or pulse for several minutes. The doctors were able to revive him. On April 17th, Mike walked out of the hospital with his artificial heart working well. It?s a temporary fix though, he still needs a real heart transplant. Mike does have insurance but his portion of the cost has already grown to the several thousands of dollars. Two months straight in 3 hospitals, a artificial heart transplant and a real heart transplant to go, there?s no doubt his part of the bills will reach 6 figures, so he needs all the help we can give him so he can concentrate on living life again and not about medical bills.
