Event Description

Registration will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, allowing students to enroll for the 29th term, running August through May 2009, with an optional summer course. The program aims to teach the Suzuki method to students of the instruments of viola, violin, and piano who are 3 1/2 years of age and older. Violin and viola instructors for the terms are Brian Gehrich, Carissa Klopfenstein and Lowell Koons; the piano instructors are Tara Gebbink and Anna Price.

Based on Shinichi Suzuki's technique of listening imitation, constant repitition, praise and encouragement achieved through comfortable learning environments, the school will also feature formal solo recitals on April 19, 2009 at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m., and a concluding concert on May 13, 2009 at 6:30p.m. Both of these events will be open to the public and will be held at Woodland Baptist Church located at 6915 Allen Road, Peoria.

Tuition fees for the term are $994 for 30-minute lessons, $1132 for 45-minute lessons and $1689 for 60-minute lesson sessions. Students having completed the curriculum of Book I of the program additionally participate in the program's orchestra, which is a $50 fee. Half of the tuition for the term is due at registration with the remaining balance due 3 weeks prior to the beginning of classes. Full tuition can be paid the day of registration.
