    I'm Barbara Shirk and I'm involved at "Look. It's My Book!" We are the organization that give six books away each school year a K -4 children in all 13 of the elementary schools in Peoria. We want to promote children reading and whatever they'll read, they'll enjoy is what they'll choose. We just celebrated, at the end of June, getting 150,000 books since we started eight years ago. I think books broaden everybody's horizon, help us be empathetic to other people and give ...

Jada is said to inspire those around her yet she is extremely humble.

    25 Women in Leadership: Victoria Hoelscher

    Victoria is a volunteer at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home and is the leader of Prayer Shawl Ministry. She had a vision that a group of women would knit and crochet prayer shawls and lap blankets for the patients at the home. To date this group has over 30 dedicated members who meet twice a month. Every patient that enters the home receives a blessed prayer shawl or lap blanket.
