    Neighbors near Illinois Route 29 and Second Street south of Pekin were lining the streets to get a closer look after human bones were discovered by a resident mowing the lawn.

    The Tazewell County Sheriff's Department reports a person out mowing their lawn Monday in Pekin has discovered human remains. The Sheriff's Department says a call came in at approximately 2:15 pm to a location on Route 29 in Pekin. Authorities responded and cordoned off the area as they investigated. An autopsy on the remains has already been scheduled for Tuesday morning. Authorities are releasing more information this evening and we will update you as soon as those details come in.
