Lee Ranson was raised and educated in Peoria, where he attended Franklin Grade School and Peoria Central High. He then studied communications at the University of Denver before returning to Peoria. After working at WIRL and WXCL radio, as well as Channel 19, Lee came to WEEK 25 in 1994. He anchors Live at Five, News 25 at Six, and News 25 Nightside weather. Lee has earned many awards for his service to the public and his community involvement. Lee has been married for 40+ years to Beverly Betebenner, and has two sons, as well as a grand-daughter. When not working, Lee stays involved with the community by appearing as emcee of many local events, traveling with the WEEK 25 travel club, and is an elder for the United Presbyterian Church of Peoria.
